The Wildlife Tour - Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common Deer Safari!
If you have ever been in London, and you leave having never seen the Deer in Richmond Park , then you have sorely missed out!!!!
Richmond Park is the largest Royal Park in London. The park has a varied landscape of hills, woodland gardens and grasslands set among ancient trees. It is a SSSI - (Site of Special Scientific Interest), and a National Nature Reserve, it is home to Sparrow Hawks, Tawny Owl redpoll, bullfinch, wood pecker, and 650 free Roaming red and fallow deer. It is simply stunning and with our experienced guides and that many deer you are almost certain to see one (or 50!)
We then cross over onto Wimbledon Common, another fantastic open space. Heavily wooded in parts, it is another of the largest wild spaces in London at 460 hectares including the adjoining Putney common. It is also a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and a SAC (Special Area of Conservation).
This eco tour takes you through two of the largest open spaces in London, which are conveniently right next to each other and together form a massive ecosystem within London. It is amazing to visit these two wild areas, once inside them you would never know you are within greater London.
If you wish, at the end of the tour we can show you to a fantastic pub in Wimbledon Village, where you can have some great food and drink, this finish point is also near to Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club, "The Home of Tennis".
